You're busy, so my pitch is brief.

I help clients get curious about their future and confident enough to pursue it — even if that means ditching the comfort of routine. I use thoughtful business transactions, title work and estate planning to help you and your family find windows of opportunity.

Smile. It's only life.

At heart, I love making people happy — the kind of happy they get from a clear mind and the real promise of what their future could hold. And you can probably guess how that makes me feel. (I think you get me already.)

I'm Christian Avery, stress ball skeptic.

Those squishy things don’t work. Never have, never will. Fun for kids (maybe), but what calms most folks — from busy parents to business owners — is getting the thing that’s stressing them out done. Then, like death and taxes, the next one comes along. And the next one. And rinse and repeat.

Which always makes me wonder… what does the good life — or a new life — actually look like?

And that is what excites me. The big dreams in your back pocket. The action after the transaction. The juice after you grow the satsuma. The “I want to” after the “I have to.” That’s what turns stress into something completely different.

Proud Louisianian. Seminary graduate. Present-day attorney.

Yes, I have a résumé. A LinkedIn thing. An assortment of certificates proclaiming me worthy of certain acclaim. What I draw on every day is a unique perspective that comes from three formative educational experiences:

  • Computer science studies and an early career in the IT world taught me to plan, create and execute for specific goals.

  • My time as a seminarian for the Diocese of Baton Rouge focused me on the biggest life questions you can imagine and earned me a philosophy degree from St. Joseph Seminary College.

  • After teaching kids at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and talking a lot about their lives ahead, I entered law school at Loyola University, graduating in 2001.

As your attorney, I get to help bridge the technical aspects of legal and title work with the purpose and meaning of my clients’ life. Whoa. Heady stuff. And because it’s just me, my goal isn’t to make partner — only to be your partner.

Food is love.

Sharing a table. Breaking bread and pouring wine. Putting the work into making a simple meal. It’s all so satisfying to me. At a young age I followed my grandmother Lola in the kitchen, learning, watching and “helping.” What memories. And now I cook with my kids for fun and churn out some pretty delicious ice cream for Avery Legal + Title clients, which could include you.

Gosh, that was a lot to read. Hopefully you had a nice coffee or beer handy.

Get out. Seriously. Go away.

Understanding your dreams and helping you chase them is my professional passion. And nothing puts me in a better state of mind to get you there than exploring this big, beautiful world around us. I’ve always loved the wonder of the wander, and from motorhome road trips as a kid to grand adventures as a non-kid, travel has always been a passion. I got seriously hooked on road and touring cycling in 2017. (Trust me, life at 12-15 mph is a nice pace to think and contemplate.) Hitting the road or the trail or anywhere else that’s not here reminds me that work and money are just means to more important ends. Earned wisdom I call it. Also good for the legs.

Give everything. Expect nothing.

If you’ve made it this far, it’s no surprise that community service is in my DNA. I’ve volunteered at summer camps and retreats, coached youth sports and worked many summers at Camp Abbey, where I still volunteer today. Our business is proud to support the Abbey Bread program, which feeds less fortunate brothers and sisters in our community — and we’re always looking for new ways to help out wherever we can. If I’ve learned one thing on my journey thus far, it’s this: giving back is where it’s at. Once you know, you know.
